The all new Mystery 43, launching summer 2012, is another Stephen Jones classic designed for top notch performance with head turning style. The Mystery 43 will encompass a high stability factor and easily handled rig combination making her easy to sail as a couples cruiser, whilst also being a potential ĎARCí winner in the making.
Built to order with an element of bespoke finishing, the Mystery 43 interior is designed to give cruising comfort for two couples and occasionally six when required. A separate forward en-suite guest cabin provides that little bit of privacy without compromising the design performance with a wide stern double cabin arrangement.
In the saloon there is ample seating for six around a feature table. The two settee seats can be used as sea berths with an option for sacrificing some amidship storage for a pilot berth on the starboard side if required.
Her aft cabin arrangement provides one spacious double with good living storage. The urge to sacrifice performance and squeeze in more berths has been avoided with clear focus on the sailorís wishes.
Hand laid solid GRP hull with no foam core. Internal furniture mouldings plexus bonded into hull with internal bulkheads bonded to both hull and deck mouldings.
The hull and deck joint is by way of a flat flange with plexus / GRP bonding .
Rudder: The spade rudder has a stainless steel shaft and is hung via self aligning nylon bearings in a
sealed rudder tube. Steering via a Whitlock pedestal and wheel.
Ballast: A lead ballast bulb keel is bolted to the bottom of the integral keel sump.
Construction: Hand laid GRP with balsa core in way of horizontal load areas. Hard wood pads under deck
fittings and stress points.
Cockpit : Cockpit locker lids are hand laid with balsa core. Integrated non slip with optional two tone
colour. Cockpit drains are solid GRP tubes bonded to Hull & Deck to form a solid structure.
Access to engineering is via a lifting sole which is bolted and sealed whilst at sea.
Toe rail and Stemhead Fitting:
The deck incorporates a mixture of GRP and teak toe rail with drain points. This extends the
full length of the deck leading to a Stainless Steel stem fitting including bow anchor / mooring
roller through bolted to hull & deck.
Six stainless steel cleats are fitted to the deck, two forward two aft and two amidships.
Stern Pulpits / Stanchions:
The stern pulpits are in 1" (25mm) stainless steel tube and are fitted to the deck fore and aft.
Hatches: A Perspex sliding companionway hatch is located inside a covered GRP garage. Two varnished
plywood washboards are supplied which can be stowed in the port cockpit locker when sailing.
A security lock is located in the top washboard. Opening aluminium hatches are located in all
cabins and saloon.
Ports: 4 opening ports are situated in the coach roof side.
Miscellaneous Deck Equipment:
a) Fuel filler.
b) Water filler.
c) Vents for tanks.
d) 4 fixings in cockpit for life harnesses.
e) Rope clutches to coach roof with halyard organisers.
f) All necessary jammers for holding sheets / control lines.
g) All mainsheet, kicker and bobstay tackles with associated blocks.
h) Deck vents where required.
i) Winches to accommodate sheeting and halyard requirements.
A bow locker moulded into the deck with a separate GRP lid moulding. A watertight bulkhead
and sturdy hard wood floor provide chain stowage. The deck moulding provides a mounting for
standard under deck electric windlass.
A sealed locker for gas bottles is located in the cockpit draining overboard.
